Lichfield’s Royal British Legion (RBL) has teamed up with Three Spires Shopping Centre and will be taking the centre by storm where they will proudly troop the flag, march, host their 100th Poppy Appeal, and much more, all in honour of the three-month long partnership with the centre to help raise money and awareness for the organisation.
The collaboration is part of the centre’s 12-month ‘year of colour’ charity initiative, which launched in July, with the installation of a giant heart becoming the centre piece for the campaign. October, in tribute to the RBL, will see the heart turning RED – the charity’s official colour – and shoppers are invited to show their support by adding red coloured tags to it for a small donation.
Three Spires shopping centre is very proud to be working with the Royal British Legion particularly as the nation builds up towards Remembrance Day. The heart installation will provide visitors with a place in which they can come together in support and respect for our fallen soldiers.
Helping to generate awareness of the RBL’s poppy appeal, veterans and fellow volunteers will be seen in the centre throughout the three months and accompanied by its poppy mascot who will be out in force collecting for this most worthwhile cause. To add to the festivities, Three Spires will also have its own poppy bunting that will be decorating the centre.
